CHAPTER 1 – SPECIFIC EVENT REGULATIONS
1.1) EVENT TITLE, DATE
The event shall be known as TRACK BATTLE ROUND 3

1.2) ORGANISATION and STATUS
.1 The event shall be held under the National Competition Rules (NCR’s) of the Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA), Drifting Standing Regulations, the Australian Drifting Grand Prix Sporting and Technical Regulations, the Track Battle Australian Time Attack Series Sporting and Technical Regulations, these Supplementary Regulations, and any Further Regulations or instructions to competitors that may be issued. The event will be conducted under and in accordance with the Track Battle OH&S and Risk Management Policy.

Entries received after this date, or after quota for event is filled, will be accepted conditionally as

.4 The organizers reserve the right to accept or reject entries at their sole discretion without assigning reason.
.5 Entry forms must be lodged with the Category Coordinator (Track Battle Pty Ltd) with the relevant entry fee. If entry forms are not completed correctly, they will be returned and entry will not be accepted until received back by the Category Coordinator.

1.8) DRIVER BRIEFING
.1 All drivers and competitors, without exception, are required to attend the COMPULSORY drivers briefing commencing at 9.00am for Time Attack Competitors and 9:30am for Drift Competitors on Friday the 18th of November 2011 at McCracken House under cover area.
.2 There will be a second compulsory drivers briefing held at 8.00am for Time Attack Competitors and 8.30am for Drift Competitors on Saturday the 19th at the McCracken House under cover area
.3 Proof of attendance will be the sign on sheet that MUST be signed when arriving at the briefing.
.4 Anyone failing to attend the briefing will be referred to the Stewards of the Meeting and may be fined $500.
1.9) PROGRAM
The program may be varied or altered at the promoter’s discretion. We do not anticipate any problems but it may be necessary to vary the program at any time. You will be notified of any important part of the program.

1.10) ABANDONMENT
The promoter of the event reserves the right to postpone, abandon or cancel the event.
1.11) LICENCE REQUIREMENTS
All competitors and drivers must hold a current L2 CAMS or AASA club license or higher. Drivers can purchase a 12-month AASA license on the day for $50. A valid license must be shown and validated at accreditation during sign in on Friday morning of the 18th.
1.13) PIT GARAGE ALLOCATION
Pit Carport allocation will be at the sole discretion of the organizer. See attachment A for carport allocations.
1.14) ACCREDITATION
.1 AUSTRALIAN DRIFTING GRAND PRIX:
Each competitor will receive four (4) pit-crew passes per car entered and two (2) pit paddock vehicle passes in addition to their competitor entry and competitor vehicle pass.
.2 TRACK BATTLE AUSTRALIAN TIME ATTACK SERIES:
Each competitor will receive four (4) pit-crew passes per car entered and two (2) pit paddock vehicle passes in addition to their competitor entry and competitor vehicle pass.
.3 All team accreditation will be available from the competitor entry gate on Friday 18th November 2011 from 6.00am-11:00am. All pit-crew names must be on the drivers entry form or they can not be given out. Extra pit passes can not be purchased. If four(4) pit crew passes are not allocated once a competitor has signed on, they can not be added at a later time.
.4 Accreditation will also be open on Saturday the 19th of November from 6.30am-8.00am
1.15) SCRUTINY
.1 All scrutiny will be STRICTLY limited to one session conducted in the Scrutineering Shed on
Friday 18th November 2011 from 7.00am – 9.00am, unless otherwise advised. Self Scrutiny will not be permitted. All vehicles must be scrutineered before entering the track.
.2 A team member must be present with the vehicle at the nominated scrutineering time.
.3 All drivers apparel (helmet, overalls, gloves, etc) must be presented for inspection during the nominated scrutiny session.
.4 At the request of the Chief Scrutineer any vehicle may be required to pass a Safety Check.
.5 A safety check will be held on Saturday 19th November 2011, Track Battle will advise competitors whether they must attend or not. If a competitor is advised they must attend it is COMPULSORY for them to do so.
6. Track Battle staff reserve the right to conduct spot inspections at any time throughout the weekend.
1.16) ALCOHOL and PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES
.1 During any competition, consumption of alcoholic beverages in the paddock, pits or any other portion of the competition venue under the control of the officials is expressly forbidden until all practice or competition activity is concluded for each day. Any driver or crew member who is found to be affected by alcohol on the day of the event or practice therefore shall not be permitted to participate.
.2 In addition, the persons concerned will be subject to the Articles of the Procedure for Alcohol Testing and TRACK BATTLE Drugs in Sport Policy. Competitors, crews or officials may be tested for alcohol or other drugs at any time during the event(s). This regulation serves as the required 24-hour notice to Competitors, Crew and Officials.
.3 Competitors are responsible for enforcing 1.16.2 with members and associates of their team.
1.17) AWARDS
.1 AUSTRALIAN DRIFTING GRAND PRIX:
Trophies will be awarded to those drivers finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd outright.
.2 AUSTRALIAN DRIFTING GRAND PRIX 2011 SERIES
Trophies will be awarded to the drivers finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 2011 series.
.3 TRACK BATTLE AUSTRALIAN TIME ATTACK SERIES:
Trophies will be awarded as detailed below;

1.18) INSURANCE
.1 Insurance will be provided in accordance with the event permit issued by AASA.
CHAPTER 2 – GENERAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
2.1) APPAREL
All drivers must wear helmets of a standard, design, construction and fitting approved by AASA & must comply with Australian Standards or above recognized by the organizer. Helmets not marked as complying with the approved standard may be approved by AASA under certain conditions.
Helmets bearing any of the following marks are approved for use in drifting competitions
AS1698 Australian standard
Snell, SA95, SA2000, SA 2005 USA standard
SFI Spec 31.1, 31.2, 31.2A USA standard
SFI Spec 24.1 ‘junior’ License holders only
E22 (with 02, 03, 04 or 05 amendments) European standard
BS 6658-85 Type A and A/FR (inc amendments) British standard
8860-2004 FIA Standard
Drivers clothing must cover from neck to wrist to ankle. Although not compulsory, an approved driving suit is highly recommended. Clothing and footwear of flammable synthetic material, such as nylon, is not acceptable.
All cars must be fitted with safety harnesses or seatbelts, which must be complete units sourced from a recognized manufacturer and must be fitted and worn within the manufacturers instructions or limitations and must meet the acceptable standards FIA 8853/98, FIA 8853 – 1985, SFI 16.1, FIA 8854/98, FIA 8854 – 1991, AS 2596, ECE R16 & AS E35.
2.3) OPEN TOP CARS
All open top cars must be fitted with AASA approved rollover protection.
2.4) CAMERAS
The fitment of cameras (other than TRACK BATTLE cameras) in or on a vehicle is permitted with written permission of TRACK BATTLE and the approval of the Chief Scrutineer.
2.5) DRIVERS CONDUCT
a) No driver body part may protrude from the vehicle and the opening of vehicle doors will not be permitted whilst participating in the event.
b) No drivers will break traction on the approach to or whilst waiting at the start line.
c) Unacceptable behavior towards track officials will not be tolerated. Unacceptable
Behavior includes swearing and abusive behavior. Anyone not conforming to this will
Be asked to leave the Raceway immediately.
2.6) FLAGS
The following flags will be used during this event:
Red Flag – Stopping the race or practice
Yellow Flag Danger ahead – slow down
Green Flag – All clear ahead
Black – Enter pit lane on next lap
Chequered Finishing flag – end of race or practice
2.7) PADDOCK/GARAGE AREA/
The maximum total amount of fuel permitted to be stored any where in the paddock/garage area by any one team, regardless of the number of cars entered by that team, is 210 litres (not including any fuel in the car).
Fuel must be stored/handled in accordance with any instructions issued by the organizers and/or the Chief Fire Marshal.
All equipment must be kept within the confines of the pit garage for public safety. All garages must be kept in a neat and presentable state for the purpose of media coverage and the public pit walk
All support vehicles must be parked on the grass areas opposite the carports. No support vehicles are to be parked in dedicated driveways or in carports.
2.8) Pit Lane
-Pit lane is a hot-pit and only allowed to be accessed by drivers, staff and one(1) pit crew member.
- All drivers and pit-crew must be wearing ankle to writs clothing while in the hot-pit
-No mechanical repairs or re-fuelling are allowed to be performed in the hot-pit.
-Tyre pressures can be checked and adjusted but that is all.
-The left and middle lane are staging lanes while the right lane is to be left clear for traffic movements. — Drivers are NOT permitted to stop in the right lane.
-All drivers must remain within ten meteres (10m) of their car at ALL times while it is in the hot-pit
2.8) VEHICLE BREAKDOWN
In the event your vehicle breaks down or leaves the circuit and you are unable to continue, get out of the vehicle only when it is safe to do so and move behind the safety fence or barrier. DO NOT attempt to repair your car. Your vehicle will be recovered as soon as possible.
CHAPTER 3 – EVENT FORMAT
3.1) COMPETITION FORMAT
.1) AUSTRALIAN DRIFTING GRAND PRIX:
Please note, this has changed from the last two rounds. There will be no preliminary qualifying sessions. All competitors will perform solo qualifying runs.
Drivers will have three practice sessions on Friday the 18th of November. All cars will perform two solo qualifying runs after a warm-up run. Judges will score both runs, with the score from the best run being used for determining a drivers ranking. The final derived qualifying score for a driver is the average score from all three judges.
After qualifying, drivers will be ranked from one (1) to thirty-two (32) and enter a series of tandem elimination rounds. Progressive 2-car tandem elimination battles will follow the format of the positions table (‘Battle Tree’). Winners will progress to subsequent elimination rounds until the last two (2) remaining drivers will contest the final. The winner of the final will be declared 1st and the defeated driver will be declared 2nd. Prior to the final the defeated drivers from the ‘Top 4 Elimination Round’ will compete with the winner being declared 3rd and the defeated driver being declared 4th.
Cars knocked out in the Top 32 will be placed from seventeen(17) to thirty-two(32) based on their qualifying score.
Cars knocked out in the Top 16 will be placed from nine(9) to sixteen (16) based on their qualifying score.
Cars knocked out in the Top 8 will be placed from five(5) to eight(8) based on their qualifying score.

.2) TRACK BATTLE AUSTRALIAN TIME ATTACK SERIES:
All competitor vehicles must have a timing beacon attached for all sessions of both days. The top recorded time for final results is the fastest lap time from any session throughout the weekend.
Two(2) top-10 shootouts will be held on Saturday the 19th of November. These are invite only time attack sessions for the ten(10) fastest time attack cars in attendance. These are designed to allow faster cars to race without traffic and provide a higher impact show for the crowd.
3.2) JUDGING CRITERIA
Judging criteria is outlined in the Sporting Regulations for each category.
CHAPTER 4 – EVENT ENTERTAINMENT
4.1) ON AND OFF TRACK ENTERTAINMENT
ON and OFF Track entertainment will also be included within the event. Entertainment will include;
- Track Battle Trade Show
- Meguiars Car Show
- ASP FMX riders – Motor bike stunts
- Saturday lunch time PIT WALK & DRIVER SIGNING SESSION
- All drivers are to be with their car during the lunch break on Saturday and make themselves available to meet the public
- All pit garages must be clean and presentable for the public
CHAPTER 5 – MEDIA
5.1) TV SHOW
Track Battle Pty Ltd is producing TV shows for both the Australian Drifting Grand Prix and Track Battle Australian Time Attack Series.
As condition of entry, all competitors must make themselves available for interviews when requested. Competitors can only refuse an interview if it clashes with their designated session on track.
Drivers are to conduct themselves in a professional and mature manner while being interviewed. No swearing or improper behaviour will be tolerated.
Drivers are to be wearing a race suit or sponsors shirt during interviews.
All trophy winners must remain at the track until a post event interview has been conducted
5.2) Cameras
As condition of entry, all competitors must make allowance for the fitment of on-board cameras during the event
Track Battle Pty Ltd retains the rights to all video footage captured by competitors and can request footage from competitors from their own cameras
