UNLIMITED CLASS
* Unlimited class is for highly modified, engineered and customised vehicles. This is for top teams on a large budget building cars with radical modifications.
CATEGORIES
Trophies will be awarded for:
- Unlimited Class Fastest Outright
- Unlimited Class 2nd outright
- Unlimited Class 3rd Outright
- Unlimited Class Fastest 2WD
VEHICLES
- All cars must be mass produced and available, or have been available, to commercially buy from a major manufacturer as an OEM vehicle
- No open wheel, kit, clubman or tube-frame purpose built race cars are permitted, as determined by event staff
- All cars must have one engine, four wheels and steering acting on the front wheels only
- Competition is not open to rear-engine cars with 6-cylinders or more
- Competition is not open to mid-engine cars with 8 cylinders or more
- Competition is not open to V10 or V12 engine factory cars
- Vehicles do not have to be road registered
MODIFICTIONS
Chassis
- All convertibles must be fitted with a roll over hoop
- Full roll cages are permitted
- Seam/stich/spot welding is permitted
- The factory side sills and the base of the A, B and C-pillar must remain factory
- The boot floor may be removed to be replaced by a fuel cell or lightweight material
- Roof chops are permitted but the base of the A, B and C-pillar must remain in factory position
- The overall silhouette of the car must remain.
- The factory strut towers must be retained but do not have to be used
Engine
- Engine conversions are permitted
- Drivetrain and engine configurations can be changed
ie convert FWD to AWD and change East-West engine to North-South
- All engines must be from a mass-produced vehicle from a major manufacturer
- The firewall is allowed to be modified to allow fitment and movement of an engine forward and backward. Any material cut out must be replaced by material of the same thickness and strength.
- The rear most part of an engine block can be no more than 2-inches aft of the original firewall, and on a rear engine car, the front most part of the engine block can not protrude more than 2-inches past the original firewall
- Engine internal and bolt-on modifications are free
- Side-exit exhaust systems must not protrude further than the bodywork and must exit the vehicle rearward of the mid point of the wheelbase.
- Nitrous Oxide is not permitted
- All vehicles must use un-leaded petroleum fuels or ethanol blends
Driveline
- Aftermarket gearboxes and gearsets are permitted
- Differential modifications are free
Suspension and steering
- Suspension modifications are free
- Factory strut towers must remain but do not have to be utilised
Brakes
- Brake modifications are free
Wheels and Tyres
- Wheel size is free
- R-Compound treaded radial semi-slick tyres are permitted
- Shaving of tread is not permitted
- Tyres just be commercially available in Australia and DOT and ADR approved
- Event staff reserve the right to conduct spot inspections of tyres and any competitors using in-correct tyres will be disqualified.
- Competitors are only permitted to use a maximum of two sets of tyres ( 8 in total ) on the competition day.
Bodywork
- Aftermarket lightweight FRP or carbon-fibre replacement panels and roof are permitted as long as the car has a full roll cage
- Aftermarket lightweight doors are only permitted to be fitted if the car is fitted with an approved weld-in roll cage
- Aero modifications are free as long as no mechanical devices are used to aid downforce
- Car must retain the overall factory bodyshape
- Lexan windows are permitted but must be securely fastened
Interior
- Cars must be fitted with a full length dashboard
- Seat(s) must be FIA approved bucket seats
SAFETY
- All cars must have a fire extinguisher securely installed within reach of the driver
- All vehicles must be equipped with a 3-point FIA approved harness or better
EXTRA
-All vehicles must keep the top of the front windscreen free for the event window banner
- All vehicles must alloy room for a entrant number and sponsors door sticker
* Please note Refunds for cancellation or withdrawal of an Entrant will not be issued under and circumstance. The Entrant may replace their spot with another eligible driver subject to approval to Track Battle Pty Ltd.
